Accelerate Biotechnological Innovations in Dairy (ABID)
Transforming dairy byproducts into valuable materials using innovative biological transformational technologies is an exciting and sustainable approach that aligns with circular bio-economy principles. The Accelerate Biotechnological Innovations in Dairy (ABID) grant program will allow the CDR to select innovative technologies from anywhere in the U.S. that are ready to be scaled up. Successful applicants will bring their promising technologies to CDR’s world class pilot plant where they will have subsidized access to equipment and staff expertise to scale up their technology so that it can be implemented in the dairy industry.
The goal is to create new green chemicals including bio-based, bio-degradable packaging, natural food ingredients, and sustainable versions of materials such as lactic acid, butanol, etc.
